They Came

They Came turns suburban Brisbane into a cheap apocalypse: UFOs made from saucepan lids, cats with lasers, and nature steadily reclaiming the edges. It is autobiographical, though not in any way a court would recognise.

Each tableau was built from hand-cut props, overhead projectors and live performance, then captured in a single exposure and finished digitally. Ed Wood Jr. supplied the permission slip. Selected works are held in the collections of Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery and Artbank.
