The Greatest Story Ever Told 2

Created 2011 · Exhibited 2012 · Film stills for an imaginary feature film

The Greatest Story Ever Told 2 is a set of film stills for a feature that does not exist—a sequel to the 1965 biblical epic, set at the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012.

Jesus returns, Richard Dawkins is cast as himself, and Generation Y inherits the apocalypse. The series uses the machinery of filmmaking—cast, plot, poster and product placement—to treat mythology as suburban entertainment.

Production Notes

Over 3,000 photographs were captured using both iPhone 4 and Canon 1DS Mark II cameras, then assembled using Adobe CS5 software to create ten final works.
