Australienation borrows the look of a 1970s sci-fi film to tell a story about invasion, conflict and the way history gets repackaged as entertainment. Household objects stand in for spaceships and the landscape is never just scenery.

Shot on an iPhone and assembled in Photoshop, the series treats “the truth” like a film set: constructed, lit and open to whoever controls the edit.

Production Notes

Principal photography was shot entirely on iPhone, with post-production montage and effects completed in Photoshop to emulate the visual aesthetic of 1970s-era CGI and filmmaking technology.
